Modern Cinderella Outfits

Cinderella
Cinderella was so fun to do outfits for, from her pajamas to her wedding gown! She is such an iconic Disney Princess and she had lovely outfits! But this did add some pressure! However I love the end results here!

Cinderella Pajamas
The pajamas were an interesting thing to do. It isn't a normal outfit, so I couldn't put all the normal things that would be in other outfits into this one. But I made up with pajama and sleepover specific items!

  •    Outfit
    • I really liked these pajamas, they reminded me a lot of Cinderella’s real pajamas. Even though they aren’t a nightgown! They matched the color and they were long sleeve, and I feel like if Cinderella was at a slumber party she’d totally rock this matching set! I did notice that Cinderella had black slippers on so I tried to find some comfy ones for her to wear. I really liked that they had some jewels to make them a little more girly. Seriously they look very comfy!
  • Accessories
    • Pillow- When it comes to sleepovers, you tend to bring your own pillow and blanket so I chose this chevron pattern pillow! I liked the simplicity of it and the different shades of blue. I think we can all assume Cinderella loved blue, and this pillow seemed to be something she would like in my opinion!
    • Blanket- Same with the blanket, I really think she would love this blue blanket. The plaid pattern and the fringe edges seems like something that isn’t to fancy and something she would already have.
    • Brush- For all my pajama outfits, I included certain aspects since purses and jewelry really weren’t needed, I thought a brush would be something cute to add, and I think it really fills out the set! Not that Cinderella has ever had a bad hair day in her life! I thought it was cute!
  • Beauty
    • Hair- I know Cinderella’s hair is technically down in this scene, but I really thought the messy ponytail was super cute! Going back to Cinderella never having a bad hair day, this looks as though she just threw her hair up without looking and it turned out flipping gorgeous!
    • Lips- For the lips, we don’t need makeup, but lip balm is always a plus! I love those little eos balms and I thought it was something super cute to add, plus I think she would love the summer fruit smell! And I like the pop of color it gave to the set.
    • Nails- I really liked the iridescent nails for this outfit. I think it gives her a pop of color to the outfit, plus who doesn’t do nails at a sleepover? This is such a cool nail polish!
    • Soap- I really liked the philosophy brand for the soaps with all the pajama outfits. I felt like Cinderella would want something pretty simple, which is why I chose these. Even if you don’t take bubble baths at sleepovers, I like to think if she had a spa night to herself, she would still use all this stuff. What girl doesn’t love a good bubble bath?
Cinderella Work Outfit
This outfit is a pretty iconic outfit, therefor I tried not to stray to far from the original. I wanted people to be able to tell from a quick glance which outfit it was, I'm quite certain you can! But I love this outfit and it was so fun to do!

  • Outfit
    • I really love this outfit, right away you can tell exactly which outfit this is and whose it is. I loved the high waisted skirt for this, and it honestly looks kind of comfy when you’re spending your days doing chores. Since a regular tank top would have been tucked in anyway, I got rid of the extra uncomfortable fabric and just gave her a crop top. Instead of an undershirt, I gave her a nice cardigan that was light and airy. If she gets hot, all she has to do is wrap it around her waist, but if she is working in the attic where it is colder, I think it’ll help her out. For the shoes, I went straight to the originals, pointed toe flats. I think they look fantastic with the outfit, and are very modern in themselves! What more do I need to say about that?
  • Accessories
    • Purse- For the purse, I gave her a backpack. If she did go into town for anything, I figured it would be easier for her to carry anything in a backpack rather than a purse. This backpack is also extremely cute, and I think it fills out the outfit quite well!
    • Jewelry- I know it seems as though she has a lot of jewelry on in this outfit, but you really have to think about how its going to look all together. I liked the pendant necklace because it was thin and added just a little something to the solid colors she is wearing. I liked the earrings because they looked really different, and I think they suit her, very natural looking shapes. The bracelet seems like something she would wear, and I also think it looks great with the outfit! It just seems like something she could throw on IF she went into town and wanted to look a little more dressed up by putting jewelry on. The watch is one of my favorite pieces in this set. It is so simple but looks so elegant, in my opinion it looks like something that used to be her mom’s. But that’s just my opinion. It seems like a small piece that Cinderella would love, and help her manage her time as she was doing her chores.
  • Beauty
    • Hair- I really loved this hair style. Cinderella really does rock her current ponytail, but I think she could totally rock this one as well. I think we can all agree that Cinderella has a slight wavy-ness to her natural hair, and that’s why I really liked this style. It is nice and sleek but has some really gorgeous natural looking waves in it. This looks like something she could do in a hurry and be ready to start her day!
    • Eyes- I really like the frosty eye shadow in this makeup. I think it highlights her blue eyes, and the mascara is amazing! I could be wrong (because I didn’t do this person’s makeup), but it looks like a simple makeup she could do really fast and be done and out the door quickly!
    • Lips- In the picture I put of Cinderella her lips look really dark, but I think it’s just the scene in the movie. I tried to find a very similar color to the other parts of the movie where she is in this outfit. I think it is a very nice red color with some shine, but it’s not a deep red and I like that.
    • Nails- Ok I doubt Cinderella has time to get her nails done, but if she did… I feel like this is something she would really love for her daily life. Nude nails, with just one nail that is glittery. I think that splash is just enough to give her an extra girly feel to her outfit.
Cinderella Pink Gown
Cinderella's pink gown was mostly her mother's with alterations by the mice to help fix it up! I tried my hardest to keep that in mind while making my modern version. This is a very fun and girly outfit, I love the way it turned out!

  • Outfit-
    • Ok so when choosing this dress I had to choose something simple. If Cinderella was our age these days, I doubt something her mom would have had would have looked a little out of style. So I really liked this, because if mice did help, they did a fantastic job! Very simple, I love how the material looks as well. For the shoes I was a little torn on the color, but after picturing it all together, I really like it. Plus you wouldn’t see the shoes that much anyway!
  • Accessories-
    • Purse- I really liked this cute little clutch, if Cinderella was working with a lot of her mothers old things, I think this isn’t something her mom would have necessarily had, but I think she could have modified it to fit today’s purses.
    • Jewelry- I kept the same necklace color, because I really liked the splash of teal. I changed the style up though instead beads, it looks more like stones. She obviously loves bows, so I had to tie a couple of them into the outfit. I really like this simple gold bracelet. The gold matches the necklace as well.
  • Beauty-
    • Hair- I liked this hair style because its understated, but very nice. I liked Cinderella’s hair down with this outfit, it looks very good with the dress. If she wanted to pull a few strands back and put the bow in her hair, I think that would look very cute and nice! I really like the two tones in her hair, it’s very pretty!
    • Eyes- I really like the two tones in the eye shadow! I think it adds something a little extra to the outfit, and would bring out the blue in her eyes quite well!
    • Lips- I tried to keep the original bright red lip, it’s very pretty and looks very well on her! Plus pink lipstick would just be way to much…
    • Nails- These nails are seriously to perfect for words! The white is so pretty but its not to much because of the sparkles! It gives the color more depth! And that pink bow is so cute! It is perfect for the outfit, and adds one more cute little bow to the outfit!
Cinderella Blue Gown
This has got to be one of the most iconic outfits in Disney history. Which gave modernizing this outfit quite a bit of heft. I'm not so sure my version is as iconic, but I am very happy with the result. I did enjoy doing this outfit, and I know not everyone is going to love it as much as I do. But I hope they still enjoy it!

  • Outfit-
    • Ok so doing this outfit was a little nerve racking. Cinderella’s ball gown is one of the most iconic Disney outfits EVER! But I am happy with what I’ve chosen. This dress is two shades of blue, I really liked that. The style is very pretty and I love the broach at the top. I know this isn’t a ball gown, but if she ever spun in this dress, it would flare out so far and that would look so pretty! I very much love this dress and love the one shoulder! So we don’t have any glass slippers these days… So I chose some strappy sparkly heels. I know they are extremely different from the originals, but I really like how they look with this outfit! Very modern, very cute, and very sparkly!
  • Accessories-
    • Purse- I decided not to use a purse in this outfit, because she spends most of the ball dancing the night away with the prince. She doesn’t need to worry about holding a purse the whole time!
    • Jewelry- I went with pearls for the jewelry because I thought they looked very pretty and very classic. I especially love the bracelet and the clasp it has! The earrings are subtle and I love that! The necklace length is a little confusing in the picture, but I see it being short, very short, not choker short though! Short enough to hug her collarbone.
  • Beauty-
    • Hair- Cinderella has an amazing updo, but for modern times I really love this hairstyle. I love the curls and the braids in it. I think it is seriously beautiful and looks fantastic with the outfit! I really just am in absolute love with this hairstyle!
    • Eyes- I love this smokey eye! It isn’t as dark as normal smokey eye and I think that’s why it fits this set! I think the blue tones in the gray eye shadow would really brings out the blue in her eyes! I think it looks very elegant and not to crazy, it is very appropriate for a ball.
    • Lips- I really wanted a toned down look for this set, and this lip color was perfect. A very natural looking pink with some gloss. It looks very well with the set, and I think it would look fabulous on her!
    • Nails- I know the nails look kind of like snow, but I really like it. I love the darker blue and I love the splashes of white! It looks almost magical in my opinion, and I think that is why I liked it so much! It accompanies the outfit very well.
Cinderella Wedding
Doing a wedding outfit was also something new, and I loved doing it! But every girl loves weddings! I love Alfred Angelo's Disney inspired dresses, and used those in all of the wedding outfits I've done! It was very fun looking at all the different gowns especially!
http://www.polyvore.com/cinderella_wedding/set?id=145541357
  • Outfit-
    • For this outfit, and other wedding outfits, I chose Alfred Angelo dresses. Alfred Angelo has designed multiple wedding dresses based off of Disney Princesses. I absolutely love all those dresses and decided to use them. This is one of my favorite Cinderella inspired dresses. I know it isn’t long sleeved, but this dress is truly amazing. The material is so sparkly and I bet it just looks amazing when she walks! I could go on and on about why I love this dress, but no one wants to read that… :) Now let’s move on to the shoes! Those shoes are flipping amazing! So pretty and so perfect for this dress! I love the designs and intricacy of them! Ok ok, I am going to have the same problem with the shoes that I have with the dress, I can go on and on about them!
  • Accessories-
    • Purse- No one brings a purse to their wedding, therefore I didn’t add one here! :)
    • Jewelry- So the shoes really inspired me for the jewelry! I loved this necklace, I thought it was gorgeous, and I love the design on it. Same with the earrings, the shape of them was absolutely gorgeous. The dress doesn’t have to many crazy things going on with it (which is why I liked it), and that’s why I liked the intricate designs on the shoes and jewelry! Added a little pop to the outfit!
  • Beauty-
    • Hair- So Cinderella has a similar hairstyle to her blue gown in this outfit, I tried to follow that pattern. I chose a similar hairstyle that was also a little less crazy than the one with her blue gown. I think Cinderella would look very beautiful and elegant with this hairstyle on her wedding day!
    • Eyes- I love the light purple eye shadow with this, just to add a pop of color around her blue eyes. It is very pretty but very understated as well!
    • Lips- I chose a bright red lip to match hers in the movie. I think the color would look amazing on her, and put a little more attention to the beautiful bride on her wedding day! Though I doubt she needs it!
    • Nails- This nail color is so pretty! I seriously love it! The silver is beautiful, it looks like such a soft yet shiny color. I think it would look wonderful with her entire outfit!

I started to do these outfits because I love the Disney Princesses! I was just inspired one day about what their outfits would look like now days... Plus you can't always throw on a ballgown to dress in the Disney fashion, but I think these outfits give you the option to be in the style of Disney without looking like you are wearing a costume! I love these outfits, but they can be interpreted in anyway, and that's how I wanted it to be. So if anyone liked them, they could find stuff in their own closets that matched in a similar way! I did every Disney Princess I could think of, and ALL of their outfits (from the original movies, no sequels...yet...)!

P.S. The links under the outfits are direct links to my Polyvore where I made the outfits! <3
