Modern Snow White Outfits

 Snow White
The very first Disney Princess! I really enjoyed doing both of her outfits! From the iconic yellow and blue dress, to the not so iconic outfit she is wearing at the beginning of the movie! I really hope y'all like them, because I had a blast making them!

Snow White Captured
In her first outfit, it looked as though this was something she wore everyday. I had to try to keep the everyday look in my modern version (even if it does look pretty dressy, it could be toned down by different fabrics).

  •    Outfit
    •  I really tried to make an outfit that was very similar to the original. The high waist skirt is longer than most skirts you see these days, and I really liked that! It really reminded me of Snow White’s skirt. The tank top would be tucked into the skirt (obviously) and is a really close color to the original. Instead of having a shirt under the tank top I went with an open blazer that was white. Snow white’s outfit is all different shades of pink, but I decided to go with a neutral color for the blazer that was still close to the original color. Now her shoes are pretty big, and we don’t tend to wear clogs anymore, so I went with a cute Mary-Jane in a light cream color. I really liked how thick the shoes looked as a whole, it really reminded me of her actual shoes.
  • Accessories
    • Purse- I chose the cross body purse because considering she is doing a lot in the scenes she is wearing this outfit, I figure she wouldn’t want to be holding a purse the whole time. I also really liked the color, it matched her tank top surprisingly well!
    •  Jewelry- Well since Snow White is known for her signature bow head band, I had to include it in some way, even if it wasn’t in her hair. I decided not to use the hair bow directly, so I found some really cute earrings in the shape of bows and I loved it! So cute and simple! Ahh! J
  • Beauty
    • Hair- I chose a really simple curly hair do for this outfit. I figured that she wouldn’t want to spend to much time on her hair (well I guess that depends on how fast one curls their hair), and it’s a really cute style. It also reminded me of her actual hair style, just much longer.
    • Eyes- For the eyes I went with a really basic eye shadow color, two natural colors and that’s it. Great mascara, and I love how her eyebrows are shaped!
    • Lips- This lip color is great for the outfit in my opinion. A great peachy nude and very glossy! Super cute!
    • Nails- I didn’t want to go to crazy with a nail color, so I chose a color that was already in the outfit. I chose this color because it matched the skirt. I personally don’t see this color a lot and I thought it was extremely pretty and wanted to use it more than once!
Snow White Casual
This is her most iconic outfit! It looks a little dressy (even though she is cleaning in it!), so I had to keep that dressy look in my modern version.

  • Outfit
    •  For this outfit I wanted someone to be able to tell right away that this was Snow White’s outfit. Considering most of her dress was yellow, I chose to make her dress yellow in this outfit. I really liked the style, how it flares out at the waist, just like Snow White’s dress! Since Snow White’s dress is blue at the top, I chose a blue blazer for her. I think this dresses up the outfit a bit, but considering her original was pretty dressy, I figured its ok. When Snow White isn’t wearing her cloak (which is most of the movie), she only has a few splashes of red. So I used red in a few small ways, for example her shoes. Pretty simple yet bold red pumps!
  • Accessories
    • Purse- Since her outfit was a little more than casual, I wanted her to have a more appropriate purse. Also, I wanted the purse to be bright red like the shoes and didn’t want a huge purse that took away from the rest of the outfit. I liked the simple clutch, it gets the job done, but it is also small and doesn’t draw to much attention to it.
    • Jewelry- Obviously you have to throw some apples in there when you are doing a Snow White outfit! I didn’t want it to be super out there, I wanted it to be subtle. I have the necklace with a small apple on it, and the way it would sit on the dress would be very pretty. It adds just enough in my opinion. But I saw these earrings and they were perfect, silver (like the necklace) in the shape of an apple with a small jewel just to show the color. I loved them!
  • Beauty
    •  Hair- The outfit is very bold (color wise) so I went with toned down hair. Sleek with natural waves toward the bottom. I decided not to use any bows in the hair or in accessories. The bow in the hair would be to much, and I chose apples for the accessories.
    • Eyes- Neutral colors for the eyes seemed the best way to go, but I did like how the shine gave it something extra! The eyeliner makes it look old enough not to just be pink glitter eye shadow! Slightly sultry even!
    • Lips- Bright red lips for one simple reason, I wanted to match her lips from the movie! And I think it works really well with this outfit!
    • Nails- I chose this color because I used multiple red items, a yellow dress, and only a blue blazer. So I chose to use that color again. And it’s a gorgeous color!

I started to do these outfits because I love the Disney Princesses! I was just inspired one day about what their outfits would look like now days... Plus you can't always throw on a ballgown to dress in the Disney fashion, but I think these outfits give you the option to be in the style of Disney without looking like you are wearing a costume! I love these outfits, but they can be interpreted in anyway, and that's how I wanted it to be. So if anyone liked them, they could find stuff in their own closets that matched in a similar way! I did every Disney Princess I could think of, and ALL of their outfits (from the original movies, no sequels...yet...)!

P.S. The links under the outfits are direct links to my Polyvore where I made the outfits! <3
